Dr. Beyer

Veterinarian

Dr. Beyer graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She purchased Beechwood Vet Clinic in January of 1997. After more than 30 years in this profession, she still enjoys the challenges of the job. She has published articles in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, taught a Business Practices class at the Veterinary School, hosted a local radio segment, and volunteered for years helping our Racine community. She and her husband both graduated from St. Catherine’s High School. They have 2 sons and many pets who keep them very busy outside of the clinic. Dr. Beyer loves to travel, cook and spend time doing crafts when she is not at the clinic.

Jennifer

My name is Jennifer, but everyone calls me Jen. I have been in the veterinary profession since 1993 and at Beechwood Vet since 1999. I have been a credentialed veterinary technician since 2007. My special interests include patient weight management, behavioral issues, basic puppy training, and general troubleshooting. I always find my daily interactions and conversations with clients to be most enjoyable! Outside of the practice, I spend my time competing in AKC conformation shows, obedience trials, and hunting retriever tests. As a licensed AKC hunt test judge, I give back to the sport I love by volunteering my time to judge at the Junior and Senior levels. My husband Ryan and I own and raise Labrador Retrievers with whom we hunt waterfowl and upland birds.

Tracey

Hi, my name is Tracey. I started at Beechwood in 2004 as a front desk receptionist. My duties range from vet assistant to IT work in the practice, to front desk reception. I have two dogs, two birds, a turtle, and fish. I love working on computers and web design, with a degree in both fields. Outside of Beechwood, I run my own artist studio, in which I create digital art and web design. My life has revolved around animals from the moment I could remember. From family pets, to working on a horse farm, a private zoo, animals have been the center of my world. I have a background in rescue work, behavior, horse care, and training. I love the ability to be able to help animals in need, as my background shows. I may not always remember a client’s name, but I often will remember the name of their pets.

Deb

Welcome, I’m Deb! I work at the Reception Desk. I have been employed at Beechwood for 4 years and I love my job! I enjoy talking with clients, new and old, and love meeting their pets. I don’t have a pet to call my very own, but I do have a Grand pup Tenleigh and a Grand rabbit, Franklin. In our spare time, my husband Pete and I love to travel, cook and play golf!

Haley

Hey hey! I’m Haley and I’ve been at Beechwood now since April of 2019. I have loved and worked with animals for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I can recall finding and “saving” every creature I could, so we always had a house full of pets. Not much has changed with my need to rescue everything that needs help or a home. I currently have 3 Pitbulls. Their names are Duchess, Millie, and Malakai and they most definitely keep me busy. Working in the veterinary field has taught me so much and continues to educate me further every single day which is why I love what I do so much. I truly enjoy working with all of our clients and their pets. I wouldn’t trade my profession for anything else out there.

Mara
Mara

Hi my name is Mara! After bringing my own dog to Beechwood, I decided to join this family in March of 2022. Currently, I attend the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, studying psychology. My golden retriever, Luna, and I enjoy going on hikes, traveling up north, visiting farmers markets, playing in the snow, and cooking meals! I love to help others and that’s exactly what I do here at Beechwood. I look forward to meeting you all and your animals!

Vanessa

Hello! My name is Vanessa, and I have been with Beechwood since December 2024. I have been in the veterinary industry since 2017. My favorite things to do in clinic are dental cleanings/surgery, phlebotomy, providing client education, and getting to know my clients and patients.

During my personal time away from the clinic, I enjoy hiking with my family and dogs, spending downtime painting or writing poetry, and going out with family and friends to music events or karaoke. I have a large fur family that consists of 5 Australian Shepherds and a Miniature Pinscher mix, 3 cats, and a ton of fish.

I do see myself continuing to thrive in this field until retirement. I am actively working toward becoming Certified and look forward to what new doors may open for me.

Brenda

Hi, my name is Brenda, and my love for animals has been a part of my life since childhood. I began working with and around animals at the age of 16. Before starting at Beechwood Vet, I previously worked at a private zoo, which led to many unique experiences. I’ve only been at Beechwood Vet for a short time, but I’m enjoying my time here and learning something new every day. I genuinely care about animals and strive to make a positive impact in their lives. I thoroughly believe every animal has a voice and deserves to be heard. My favorite animals are snakes; I have several of them, along with three cats, one dog, a tarantula, and a gecko that keep life busy and fulfilling. When I’m not at work, I enjoy hiking, traveling, and getting creative with DIY projects. I find joy in exploring nature and discovering inspiration in the little things!
